History
... a Century of Commitment to Innovation and Customer Service
Founding Fathers
“When our customers give us their business, they give us their trust. I want their experiences
to show that their trust has been well placed”
Henry J. Mollenberg
1916
- 1910
- Henry J. Mollenberg and Jacob Betz started a machine shop to perform general machining and design work.
- 1911
- Citizens’ Dairy of Lockport, New York, asked Mollenberg-Betz to design and install a refrigeration system,
the genesis of our legacy in refrigeration technology.
- 1937
- Mollenberg-Betz installed the first air conditioning system in Buffalo for Sattler’s Department Store.
- 1960
- To anticipate and better serve rapidly expanding business demands, Mollenberg-Betz formed dedicated operating
divisions for its Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC); Process Piping; Ice Rink; and Service
departments.
- 1985
- Our machine shop was converted into an 18,000 sq. ft. fabrication facility. The enhanced capability to
pre-fabricate piping assemblies and skid packages for jobs within the area and out of town helped expand our
business to include chemical and industrial plant work.
- 1998
- Cayuga Piping, a subsidiary of Mollenberg-Betz, was created to provide a dedicated corporate entity to
growing commercial, industrial, and institutional plumbing markets.
- Present
- Mollenberg-Betz continues its mission as a nationally recognized leader in mechanical-refrigeration contracting,
advancing the design, construction, and service of refrigeration systems, HVAC, process piping, pre-fabrication,
skid packages, plumbing, and ice rinks.
- Our clients range from large national organizations to smaller local entities... and all are provided the same
outstanding level of attention and service that have been our hallmark for the last century, and will remain
as such for the century to come.
